NBA Basketball...KOBE GOES FOR 61 AT THE GARDEN!!!!!!!

It was a historic night at The Garden. Kobe led the Lakers to a 126-117 win over the Knicks, but that doesn't really matter. What matters are the following facts:
  • Kobe Bryant aka KB24 aka The Black Mamba aka The Doberman SCORED 61 POINTS.
  • Bryant's 61 is the record for most points scored in the current MSG.
  • He was 19-31 from the field and 20-20 from the free throw line - the most free throws made without a miss in a game.
  • It was Bryant's 5th time scoring 60, 24th time scoring 50, and 5th time hitting 40 in The Garden.
  • He left the game to a standing ovation and "MVP" chants from Knicks' fans.

I've said before, and I'll definitely say it again after Monday's performance: Kobe's the best player in the league. Maybe not the most dominant, dangerous, or whatever else, but skill for skill he's the best in The League. Matter fact, skill for skill, he's as good as Mike. Yup, I said it.

On a more somber note...The Lakers found out they'll be without Andrew Bynum for 8-12 weeks after he tore his MCL last week. Damn.

Also, Chris Paul and Jameer Nelson were both injured in their respective games. Damn, Damn, Damn.

How important is CP3 to the Hornets?

When he left in the 3rd quarter they were up 17. They lost by 8. You do the math.
