It's safe to say #12 Louisville has bounced back from their early-season inconsistencies, and are LEGIT. They went into to the Carrier Dome, and beat #8 Syracuse 67-57, in front of 25,000+ 'Cuse fans. Impressive. It's their seventh straight victory, and the Cards are now 6-0 in conference. Louisville closed the game on a 12-3 run, and held the Orangemen - who came into the game shooting 50% - to just 35% from the field. Earl Clark led the Cards with 16 points, 13 boards, and 5 assists. Their defense was stingy, holding Syracuse's leading scorer Johnny Flynn, who averages 16 points per contest, to just 12 points on 3-12 shooting. While the Cards' are in full stride, the Orangemen, on other hand, are reeling. After starting conference play 4-0, they've now lost three of their last four.
Another reeling Big East team is Georgetown. They fell to Seton Hall, giving the Pirates their first conference win. The Hoyas have dropped 5 of their last 7, and are now under .500 in conference play.
Shouts out to my guys Evan and Shump who both played tonight. Evan had 19, 6 boards, and 3 dimes, and didn't come off the floor for a minute for the Ohio State Buckeyes, in their 78-67 loss to #7 Michigan St. Shump had 9 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals for Georgia Tech in their 73-59 loss to #9 Clemson.
