NBA Basketball...Boston's Back

Boston's clearly shaken off any lingering effects of their Christmas Day loss to the Lakers that sent them spiraling to 2-7 in their next 9 games. Since then, they've won 8 straight by an average of 16 points. In the return of the NBA on ABC Sunday games, the Celtics demolished Dallas, 124-100. And it wasn't even that close. Boston entered halftime with 27 point lead, and cracked the 100 point mark before the end of the third quarter. The Celtics got 23 from three guys: KG, Ray Allen, and...Eddie House? Yeah, that's how you know it was bad. Rajon Rondo chipped in 13 points and 14 dimes, as well.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on a roll lately. Like the Thunder, their a young team with lots of young talent that started off terribly, but, in recent weeks, began to get their act together. The T'Wolves beat the Chicago Bulls, 109-108 in overtime, and got 39 and 9 from Al Jefferson, who's an absolute BEAST. Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 23, and Derrick Rose put in 18 to go along with 7 assists. The Wolves are 9-2 in the New Year, a record that includes wins over New Orleans and Phoenix. Jefferson should be an All-Star - he's averaging 22 and 11- and while Minnesota's certainly not gonna make a playoff push, they are starting to show hope for the upcoming seasons.
