Birds Flyin High! Eagles Beat Giants 23-11

The Eagles took care of business today, beating the Giants 23-11 in the Meadowlands. I been rockin with the Eagles for a minute so I was loving what I was seeing. McNabb didn't have a great game by any means, throwing for 250 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, but his leadership showed as the Eagles offense seemed as poised as ever. It was good to see McNabb return to his old, scrambling form at times, resulting in 16 yards and a touchdown. Even though the Philly offense wasn't spectacular, and Brandon Jacobs - considered to be the ignition to the Giants offense - picked up 92 yards, the simple difference was that the Giants never scored a touchdown. The G-Men were only able to convert 3 of 5 field goals on top of that. They also had a safety early in the game.

Next week will be fun to watch the Eagles and Cardinals face off, as both teams seem to be peaking and hitting their strides at the exact same time. The Cardinals passing game vs. the Eagles secondary will be an excellent matchup and significant key to the game.

Steelers Handle Chargers At Home, 35-24

This is a pretty game to wrap up; It was a competitive first half. The Chargers opened the game looking awesome, scoring on their first drive in just four plays. The half time score was Steelers 14, Chargers 20. Then, in the third quarter, the Chargers had ONE PLAY, and the game was pretty much over after that. Turnovers, and the Steelers ability to string together plodding drives, held the Chargers to a time of possession of 17 seconds in the third quarter.

Their game next week against will be a slugfest, and not a game to watch if you enjoy high-scoring games. I've been predicting/hoping for an Eagles-Ravens Super Bowl matchup, and it definitely has the potential to happen.
