Jeff Teague went off on BC today, finishing with 27 points, including 20 in the first half, and 8 assists to end Wake's two game losing streak. The Demon Deacons topped the Eagles, 93-76. Although he had a solid freshmen year, and people knew he could play, he's stormed onto the national stage this season, and is the most surprising player in the country, thus far. Teague's gone from under the radar to a potential lottery pick, should he opt to enter the draft (hopefully he won't), and arguably the best PG in the country. After averaging 14 points per game last year, Teague's stepped it up to 20 a night this season en route to leading Wake, who entered the season unranked, to an 18-3 record and #6 ranking. Teague's definitely gotten plenty of help from a great surrounding cast of young players, such as freshman F Al-Farouq Aminu and sophomore F James Johnson, but he's the unquestioned leader.
Also, in G-Tech's 57-56 loss to Maryland Sunday, my dude Shump led the Yellow Jackets with 13, to go along with 6 boards and 4 assists.
