Providence knocked off #1 Pitt in Rhode Island, 81-73. Pitt is the sixth #1 to lose in eight weeks. The others: North Carolina on Jan. 4 vs. Boston College. Pitt on Jan. 17 vs. Louisville. Wake on Jan. 21 vs. Virginia Tech. Duke on Jan. 28 vs. Wake. UCONN last week, Feb. 16, vs. Pitt. And Tuesday, as Pitt lost to Providence. As with all Pitt losses this season, DeJuan Blair, despite having 17 points and 8 boards, was in foul trouble for much of the game. Providence got a balanced effort on offense with 5 players scoring in double figures.
