The Return Of Shaq Diesel

The big homie Shaq may be the best center in the Western Conference once again. He had 26 and 10 for the Suns tonight, who beat the Hawks 107-102. Get this though: over the past two months, Big Daddy's averaged 21 and 10. O'Neal was even 12-12 from the free throw line prior to today's 6-11 performance. I can't stand Yao, so I wouldn't mind seeing Shaq get the start in the All-Star game, and he should, even despite missing a handful of games. Shaq playing like this can make Phoenix a legit contender. Currently, the Suns are 22-13. Although many think the window's closed on the Suns, I like their offensive threat of Steve Nash, Jason Richardson, Amare Stoudemire, and The Diesel. Plus, head coach Terry Porter's emphasis on defense is showing.

Jodie Meeks GOES OFF!!!!!

Kentucky junior Jodie Meeks had 54 points tonight! Incredible. He was 15-22 from the field, including 10-15 from deep, for Kentucky, who beat Tennessee at Tennessee, 90-72. And he was 14-14 from the free throw line. Meeks came into the game as the nation's 5th leading scorer, putting up 24.2 points per game. Although his 54 will go down as one of the greatest performances of all time, we probably shouldn't be surprised. He's put up 39, 37, 46, and 32 points already this season for the Wildcats, who are now 12-4. They don't have many significant victories on the schedule, and were blown out by North Carolina, so not sure if they're tournament-worthy yet, but tonight's win will definitely help. They'll be major players in the SEC though, if Meeks keeps it up. In addition, the Wildcats have a few other nice players including sophomore forward Patrick Patterson and Chicago guard, freshman Deandre Liggins, who can help contribute to the resurgence of Kentucky. 

No Top 25 games tonight, but shout out to my boy Evan from Ohio St. He had 13 points and 5 assists in the Buckeyes 77-53 win against Indiana tonight, and has played extremely well all season.

How crazy is it that neither Kansas and Memphis - who both won tonight - the two teams from last year's National Championship game are ranked in the Top 25.

Roland Burris Is Officially Appointed To Vacant Senate Seat

Roland Burris will be sworn in as the junior senator from Illinois on Thursday afternoon by Vice President Dick Cheney, officials announced this afternoon.

Cheney will be acting in his role as President of the Senate.

Following the swearing in, Sen. Dick Durbin, the assistant majority leader who had initially blocked the Burris appointment, will host a reception in his honor.

Finally this matter has been resolved, and I'm glad Burris got the seat......I'm really just glad we got another brotha in there.

This might be the first single off Jones upcoming album, Pray IV Reign. I think Jones got a hit with this one. He's certainly not the greatest rapper - something he's admitted himself - but he's always good for a hot track. And Ryan Leslie is cold.

If you've been paying attention this basketball, then I'm sure you've noticed several players wearing the Nike Foamposite Lite's, including Amare Stoudamire, Caron Butler, and Yi Jian Lian. They look so sick on the court. Nike seems to have come up with another gem of a shoe, not just based on looks, but performance, as well. Foamposite technology allows the shoe to adjust to the shape and movement of your foot the more you play in it. Nothing too exciting in The League tonight.  Some highlights: Mehmet Okur had 43 for Utah. Paul Pierce put in 39 for the Celtics. Brook Lopez had 31 and 13. New Orleans continued their up-and-down ways. Knicks won though, which I can't be mad at. Nick Young had 30 for Washington. And guess what: Danny Granger had 30. He just never stops.
