ASG 2009.......

The West topped the East, 146-119, to win the 58th annual NBA All-Star Game. Because the the game was so lopsided it was"dead", and the halftime show - comprised of John Legend, President Obama, and NBA Cares messages - was wack. The most eventful parts of the game were Shaquille O'Neal decided to showcase his PG skils, and attempt to rock Dwight Howard on multiple occasions. Kobe Bryant and O'Neal, were reunited, along with Phil Jackson, for the first time since the demise of the LA Dynasty in '04. Ironically, they shared MVP honors. Bryant finished 27 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 4 steals, while O'Neal had 17 points 8-9 from the field. CP3 14 and 14 for the West. LeBron James led the East with 20.

The Diesel stole the show during the introductions:

College basketball's on the backburner again due to ASG '09...However, it was upset city for 3 of the 7 Top 25 games though: #11 Clemson fell at Virginia, just 8-13 on the season, in OT...#15 Butler dropped on at home vs. Loyala (IL)...Boston College knocked off #5 Duke for the first time in 24 years. BC also topped highly ranked UNC earlier this season. With Tyrese Rice, who can get hot at any time,  at the point, the Eagles always have a chance to win if they can keep it close. The Blue Devil's have now lost 4 of their last 6...

Julian Jones: The Man With The Plug & The Plan

Many of the star basketball players descending on Phoenix today for the NBA All-Star Weekend will be calling a sitter -- and not for their kids.

In a world that's become increasingly fraught with danger for superstar athletes as potential predators wield cellphone cameras at every turn, Julian Jones has carved out an unusual -- some might say enviable -- niche for himself. The lanky 27-year-old is the world's most sought-after athlete wingman.

Part companion, part publicist, part chaperone and part guardian angel, Mr. Jones, who lives in Las Vegas and works for a pair of casino owners, specializes in setting up elaborately arranged outings for athletes where every detail from transportation and tickets to the members of the entourage is premeditated. He says this weekend's annual NBA All-Star festivities, which have emerged as one of the biggest blowouts for athletes and their hangers-on, is one of his busiest times of the year.

Using a combination of street smarts, tips from veteran superstars like Shaquille O'Neal and ancient Chinese military tactics gleaned from reading Sun Tzu's "Art of War," Mr. Jones has become so adept at protecting his charges from ugly situations and nightclub mayhem that he's become a trusted ally of athletes across all sports leagues. NBA stars from Kobe Bryant to Amare Stoudemire have joined his entourage in Las Vegas. He rang in the New Year with Michael Phelps, escorted New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia and his son to a fight this month, and in January accompanied Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens to a party....

...Mr. Jones, who would not disclose his salary (one of his bosses, casino owner Gavin Maloof, says it's "not much"), admits to oversleeping on a regular basis, eating at Jack in the Box once a day, sprinkling cheese on everything, and rarely answering his phone (though he says he returns 90% of the calls he gets a day).

But the nonchalant image he cultivates is deceptive. In fact, Mr. Jones spends most of his days in his junior suite on the 17th floor of the Palms Casino Resort where he strategizes and secures tables at restaurants and access to nightclubs. His main rule of thumb: He never tells callers where his party is or where he's going next, lest potential leeches be eavesdropping on either end of the line. When Mr. Jones heard last summer that his friend Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was robbed and found unconscious in a hotel driveway, he felt personally responsible. "That never would have happened if I'd been in town that week," says Mr. Jones.

Full story here.

KiD CuDi & Consequence Speak On The Making Of "Buggin' Out 2009"

Music News...

Speaking Of KiD CuDi...

G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi was reportedly arrested last night after a scuffle with police that left the Cleveland, Ohio rapper tasered. According to AllHipHop.com, the incident occurred outside of a Reebok party in conjunction with the NBA All-Star Game, hosted in Phoenix, Arizona this year.

Initial reports claim that the incident was the result of Cudi and party organizers fighting over whether the rapper could wear Jordans, a Nike-manufactured shoe, while performing at the event. The dispute grew physical, reportedly causing authorities to use force and subsequently arrest Cudi.

Label spokespeople have yet to comment on the issue.

C. Breezy: "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am..."

Singer Chris Brown broke his silence Sunday, a week after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, fellow performer Rihanna, on a street in Los Angeles, California.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," the 19-year-old said in a statement released by his spokesman. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

He added, "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

Police are investigating the incident.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said Wednesday the office needed more information before deciding on whether to charge Brown.

Brown was arrested February 8 -- the day of the Grammy Awards, where he was scheduled to perform -- and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, the spokeswoman said.

Brown, who did not appear at the awards show, was released from jail that night on $50,000 bail and given a March 5 court date.

Brown's lawyer did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Police said Brown and a woman were in a vehicle near Hollywood's Hancock Park early February 8 when they became involved in an argument.

The woman "suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker," police said.

Police did not identify the woman, but sources close to the couple told CNN the alleged victim was his girlfriend, the 20-year-old singer Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

She has made no public comment. Her spokesman issued only a short statement on the evening of February 8, when she canceled her performance at that night's Grammy Awards. "Rihanna is well," her spokesman said at the time. "Thank you for concern and support."

Police have refused media requests to hear the 911 call that led to their investigation.

The technology on these is sick, and you gotta give Jordan credit - although they make a killing off the retro game, they always remain among the most forward thinking and innovative brands when it comes to the newest models.
