NBA Playoffs...
- Pau Gasol - 21 points, 18 boards, 3 blocks.
- Hedo Turkoglu - 25 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds.
- Dwight Howard - 12 points, 16 boards, 5 blocks.
- What's scarier: The fact that L.A. can smash a team, while getting just 14 points on 4-12 shooting from Kobe? Or the fact that they don't show up like that every night?
- I been doggin' 'em, but DAMN Orlando looked good last night. Skip, Hedo, Rashard Dwight, and Pietrus were all on there shit.
- The losers: How many years does Boston have left? Hearing Paul Pierce in the post-game definitely indicates that they'll be good to go for next year, and with the development of their young contingent of Rondo, Big Baby, and Kendrick "No Smile" Perkins, they should be a strong team for the net few years. Houston's made leaps and bounds this year. With their toughness, the emergence of Aaron Brooks, and the return of Yao and T-Mac, Houston's solidified themselves as a legit title contender.
- #2 Denver Nuggets vs. #1 L.A. Lakers - This will be a good one. Denver's playing the best ball in The League right now. L.A. is, 1-12, the best team in The League. Both teams have outstanding benches. Both teams have outstanding scorers in Melo and Kobe. Both teams PGs at the helm who have seen it all, in Chauncey and D-Fish. All that being said, if L.A. plays their best game, and Denver plays their best game, L.A. wins. The difference is inside. Led by Pau, Bynum, and L.O., the Lakers have a HUGE size advantage. It's a matter of whether they play with a sense of urgency, and exploit that mismatch. They should. The stakes are higher, they know Denver's playing their best basketball of the year, and, if all else fails, The Black Mamba won't let them lose. PREDICTION: L.A. in 7.
- #3 Orlando Magic vs. #1 Cleveland Cavaliers - Another great series here. The Inside The NBA guys made some great points about the Magic. Low-key, Orlando, after L.A., may have the best team, 1-12, in The League. They've got HUGE guys in Hedo, Rashard, and Mickael Pietrus who are matchup problems because they can shoot the rock so well. Then you throw in Skip, Courtney Lee, and JJ Reddick, and you're looking a GREAT 3-point shooting team. The problems occur because that's too often all they think about, forgetting they have Dwight Howard, the best center in basketball, in the post. Honestly, they are as good as or better than Cleveland at every position. All that being said, there's one important thing to remember: the Cavs have KING JAMES. PREDICTION: Cavs in 6.
And Ya Say Chi City...
A 21-year-old man was shot in the buttocks outside the downtown House of Blues after a hip-hop show.
That shooting happened just before 4 a.m., as more than 1,000 people were leaving the concert venue at 329 N. Dearborn. A show by hip-hop acts Drake and Sly Polaroid began at 11:30 p.m. Friday.
The victim was involved in an "altercation" with someone who displayed a handgun, then shot the man and fled, said Chicago Police spokesman John Mirabelli. The victim, who was not identified, was listed in stable condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Detectives are investigating the case, and no one was in custody as of Saturday evening, police said.

Swizz Beats Officially Dating Alicia Keys...
Hip-hop maestro Swizz Beats is finally admitting that he and Alicia Keys are an item — but he wishes his estranged wife, Mashonda, would leave the Grammy winner out of their divorce.
For months now, Swizz has been trying to keep his thing with Alicia on the down-low. But he doesn't leave much doubt about who owns his heart on Drake's new "Best I Ever Had" remix.
Wake up in the morning and my baby cooked me breakfast, A's naked wearing nothing on but a necklace …
Yeah, she say she wanna treat me like a king; I get big gifts so the money ain't a damn thing
She gave me a party at the Guggenheim … What's next? The ring? The baby? She really loves me!
Swizz tells us that, yes, he's in love with Keys and, yes, she did give him a birthday party at that museum.
"But we're nowhere near ready for a baby or a ring," laughs Swizz, aka Kasseem Dean. "This whole song is not about Alicia. The part about her cooking breakfast for me naked — she never done that for me." Damn.
Swizz didn't want to talk about Keys till now because, he says, "What we have is so precious." He also felt it would aggravate Mashonda, who's also a singer.
He may have been right. "When he told Mashonda he was dating Alicia, I think she got jealous," says a friend of the couple.
Having filed for divorce in February, Mashonda is seeking interim support for their 2-year-old son, Kasseem Jr., arguing that Swizz has slashed his payments.
"He's been tightening the screws on her," says a friend of Moshanda. "It's becoming intolerable. Meanwhile, she's seen the charges for jewelry he's bought Alicia in France."
During the winter, the heat in Mashonda's Westchster mansion went out. "Swizz wouldn't repair her heat," says her friend. But a pal of Swizz argues, "The house is 30,000 square feet. The heat didn't work in one wing, not where Mashonda and Dean slept. Swizz had been paying all of their bills. On top of that, he was giving her $5,000 a week. His advisers felt that was too much, so now he pays her $3,500 a month, on top of the bills.
Full story here.
I hate you Swizz Beats...
P.S. How about the fact that he's shelling out damn near 6 figures to Mashonda. That's crazy.

Meth & Red Have Been Making Their Rounds Lately...
R.I.P. Wayman Tisdale...
NBA Playoffs...
- Dwight Howard - 23 points, 22 boards, 3 blocks.
- Rajon Rondo - 19 points, 16 rebonds, 6 assists.
- Luis Scola - 24 points, 12 rebounds.
- Aaron Brooks - 26 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds.
- Kobe Bryant - 32 points.
- Boston lost. Wonder why??? Ray Allen: 2-11, 5 points. When he doesn't shoot well, Boston does not win.
- L.A., L.A., L.A........Outside of Kobe - who, at 11-27, had a bad shooting night - Pau Gasol, and Jordan Farmar, who's quietly earned his minutes back - the rest of the Lakers team combined for 21 points. Andrew Bynum started at center, and contributed ZERO points. Their bipolar tendencies are SCARY.
- Just when I was starting to give Pau Gasol respect, he proceeded to get lit up by Scola. How about Kobe putting his hands on Gasol in the huddle.

NBA Playoffs...
- Carmelo Anthony - 30 points, 5 rebounds.
- Chauncey Billups - 28 points, 12 assists, 7 boards.
- Dirk Nowitzki - 32 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists.
- Where Dallas go from here. Obviously, this team won't be getting better. They're solid, but definitely not title contenders.
- Including this year, Chancey Billups has now been to 8 consecutive Conference Finals. Wow...
- Denver is smokin right now. If L.A. (sorry Houston) isn't on their square, the Nuggets will, without question, win that series.
- Givin' it up for Dirk one more time. Save Game 1, he top the 30 point mark every game.
